35mm slides

SLIDES FROM PAGEPLUS

PhotoGraphic Specialties is a service bureau which uses PagePlus 8.0 to make 35mm slides, and accepts your .ppp files directly.

PagePlus Version 8
To begin making a new slide in PagePlus, create a new file, then go to "Page Setup" in the "File" drop-down menu. Choose "Small Publications" and "Publication Size," then "Custom." Set the width to "11.00 in." and the height" to "7.33 in." Set "Landscape" rather than "Portrait." Click "OK" on the page setup window. Your page will be correctly displayed in the landscape format. When you begin designing your slides, make a full frame background with a dark fill, as slides always begin with a black background rather than the default white that paper usually has. Keep objects away from the edges, as the slides will not look very good with things too close. Plus, things very close to the edges will be cut off when the slides are mounted. Save your file as a PagePlus Publication (.ppp).

As an alternative to the above setup instructions, you can download the file ppptemplate.zip, which is a free template for 35mm slides when unzipped.

All Versions
We have installed on our machine all the fonts which came with Page Plus 4.0, 7.0, and 8.0, as well as with Windows, but you should let us know what fonts you have used, especially if there are any third-party fonts used in your slides.

When you save your file, go to the drop-down menu in the upper left of your screen; choose "File," then "Save As," and save the file as a .ppp file.

Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
