35mm slides

FONTS AVAILABLE FOR USE IN SLIDES

PhotoGraphic Specialties has thousands of fonts available as each software package we are licensed to use comes with different ones. You may have the same fonts we have, or different ones. If your 35mm slides and overheads use fonts we do not have installed and active on our machine while it is sending the image to film, your 35mm slide or overhead transparency will have a substitute font.

We normally keep about 500 of the most used fonts (Truetype and Postscript) permanently installed; thousands more are ready to install if needed. You need to tell us which fonts you have used, because not all programs notify us automatically to install missing fonts. Also, not all programs accurately report the fonts you actually used!

If you use only the Truetype fonts listed here, you know that there will be no substitutions, as these are always active:

Keep in mind that bullets, checks, and miscellaneous marks are also part of a specific font, as is the type in embedded graphs or charts.

We use some software produced by Adobe and Extensis and can recommend those companies to you. If you would like further information on fonts Qualitype is a good place to look.

Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
