35mm slides

SLIDES FROM MICROGRAFX DESIGNER

PhotoGraphic Specialties creates 35mm slides made in Micrografx Designer 7, 6, and TE 4.1. We accept Micrografx Designer .ds4 or .dsf files.

For Designer 7.0 and 6.0:
When you begin your 35mm slides in Designer, go to "File," "Page Setup" in the drop-down menus. Choose "Custom" as the page size (11.25 inches by 7.50 inches), and "Landscape" as the Page Orientation. We suggest using "0.20 inches" for all four margins. Since 35mm film is black, next create a black, filled rectangle to fill the page. Remember that anything placed in the margins may be hidden by the 35mm slide mount.

When you save your work, go to the drop-down menu in the upper left of your screen; choose "File," then "Save As," and save the file as a .dsf file. We have all the fonts which came with Micrografx Designer 7.0 and 6.0 as well as with Windows, but not all of them are installed on our machine permanently, so tell us the fonts you used in your file.

For Designer 4.0:
When you begin your 35mm slides in Designer, go to "File," "Page Setup" in the drop-down menus. Choose "35mm" as the page size (11.00 inches by 7.33 inches), "Landscape" as the Page Orientation, and "0.00 inches" for all four margins. Since 35mm film is black, next create a black, filled rectangle to fill the page.

When you save your file, go to the drop-down menu in the upper left of your screen; choose "File," then "Save As," and save the file as a .ds4 file. We have all the fonts which came with Micrografx Designer TE 4.1 as well as with Windows, but not all of them are installed on our machine permanently, so tell us the fonts you used in your slides.

Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
