35mm slides

SLIDES FROM DRAWPLUS

PhotoGraphic Specialties currently creates 35mm slides from DrawPlus 7.0 and accepts your .dpp files directly.

DrawPlus Version 7
To make your 35mm slides from DrawPlus Version 7, create a new file, then go to "Page Setup" in the drop-down menus. Choose "Regular Document Type", then choose "Custom Document Size". Set the orientation to Landscape and give it a width of 11.000 in. and a height of 7.330 in. Remember not to put anything too close to the edges and risk it being covered by the slide mount. Things too close to the edges will be cut off when the slides are mounted, and the design usually looks better with text and graphics not going right to the edges. When designing your 35mm slides, make a full frame background with a dark fill, as slides always begin with a black background rather than the default white that paper usually has. If you really want to have a white background, please draw a filled white rectangle for the background. If you would like to use a free template we have made using the correct size, download our file dpptemplate.zip

When you save your file, go to the drop-down menu in the upper left of your screen; choose "File," then "Save As," and save the file as a .dpp file.

DrawPlus Version 5
To make your 35mm slides from DrawPlus Version 5, create a new file, then go to "Create a drawing" in the drop-down menus. Choose "Wide", then choose "Add page size...". Name the size "35mm slide" and give it a width of 11.00 in. and a height of 7.33 in. Remember not to put anything too close to the edges and risk it being covered by the slide mount. DrawPlus Version 4
To make your 35mm slides from DrawPlus Version 4, create a new file, then go to "Page," "Page Setup" in the drop-down menus. Choose "Custom" as the "Page Size." "Width" should be "11.00 inches" and "Height" should be "7.33 inches." Set "Wide" rather than "Tall." Set the margins to "0.25 inches" so that you remember not to put anything too close to the edges and risk it being covered by the 35mm slide mount. Things too close to the edges will be cut off when the slides are mounted, and the design usually looks better with text and graphics not going right to the edges. All Versions
We have installed on our machine all the fonts which came with DrawPlus 4.0, 5.0, and 7.0, as well as with Windows, but to avoid font substitution, you should let us know what fonts you have used, especially if there are any third-party fonts used in your file.

Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
